Fitch Affirms AAA Financial Strength Rating for Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company

The two segments of Northwestern Mutual, Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co., and Northwestern Long Term Care Insurance Co. both received the AAA rating from Fitch.

The AAA rating is the highest possible score an insurance company can receive. The other three major rating services, Moody's, Standard and Poor's and A.M. Best, also assigned Northwestern Mutual their best rating.

The company's outlook remains stable and sets Northwestern Mutual apart from many of its competitors, who have not received such high accolades and bright future forecasts.

Fitch announced that its high ratings "reflect Northwestern Mutual's very strong competitive position in the U.S. life insurance market and exceptionally strong balance sheet fundamentals."
