Omnium, a software vendor based in Sydney, Australia, has discovered a way to capitalize on the popularity of the latest electronic gadgets by debuting the world's first iPhone application, or app, for quotes on comprehensive life insurance quotes.
The life insurance industry is already applauding the app as the fastest and easiest way to retrieve life insurance quotes. The iPhone app offers current premiums on policies from 12 different major life insurers in a matter of seconds.
Speaking about the new medium, Omnium founder Dr. David King said: "iPhone apps or mobile phone apps in general are beginning to shape the way people consume, so we thought it was necessary to leverage the online solutions we have already developed for the industry into a quick and easy-to-use iPhone app, and the response so far has been amazing."
King also believes the strategy could help provide a solution to the serious problem of underinsurance in the life insurance industry, as iPhone commands just under 30 percent of the cell phone market in the United States.
Five free life insurance apps have been released, with both the general public and insurance industry professionals being targeted as possible users. iPhone users can view quotes on a variety of different life insurance products by downloading the app on iTunes or through their handsets in the app store.
